Samuel E. Isaiah, P.E., a highly experienced mechanical engineer with a remarkable career spanning eleven years. Samuel’s expertise lies in designing mechanical systems across diverse sectors, including the California State Transportation Department, municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities, the natural gas industry, and healthcare. He has made significant contributions to various projects, demonstrating his commitment to engineering excellence.
Experience:
Samuel currently serves as a Mechanical Engineer for the California Department of Transportation, where he responds to emergency projects, inspects Caltrans facilities, and undertakes design projects to upgrade HVAC systems, water feed, fire safety, and more. His work ensures compliance with state codes and regulations.
During his tenure at Carollo Engineers, Inc., Samuel played a pivotal role in the Headworks Rehabilitation project for the Orange County Sanitation District. His responsibilities included designing power generation systems, ventilation and cooling solutions, exhaust systems, and fuel maintenance systems. He also conducted field testing and provided technical reports.
Additionally, Samuel led the Digester Gas Facilities Rehabilitation project, optimizing digester gas compression, energy consumption, and cooling systems. He evaluated compressor technologies, designed cooling systems, and prepared technical evaluations.
His role as Lead Engineer for the City of Sunnyvale’s Secondary Treatment and Dewatering Project showcased his expertise in designing blower systems and optimizing aeration basins.
Standards and Codes: Samuel is well-versed in a range of industry standards, including NFPA, ASME, ANSI, and ASHRAE, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Previous Roles:
Prior to joining Carollo Engineers, Inc., Samuel worked at WSP (formerly Golder Associates, Inc.) as a pipeline engineer and project engineer, designing pipelines and regulating stations for the natural gas sector. He also served as a mechanical engineer at Ted Jacob Engineering Group Inc., specializing in commercial HVAC systems and the demolition of existing healthcare facilities.
Education and Licenses:
Samuel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Merced, and a Master’s degree in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering from the University of California, Davis. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of California.
